MELOFEED

MELOFEED’s melon powder contains a specific coating that protects the primary antioxidant enzyme, SOD, along the digestive tract. Once the melon powder reaches the small intestine, it stimulates the endogenous production of antioxidant enzymes in the body and helps reinforce natural defenses against oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress results from an imbalance between pro-oxidant and antioxidant molecules, causing an overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This overproduction of ROS could overwhelm the horse or pet’s normal antioxidant capacity, causing damage at the molecular and cellular level.

Oxidative stress can occur during intense physical activity. This type of stress is involved in the aging process and is linked to metabolic imbalances. Dogs and cats under oxidative stress could appear in poor health with a compromised immune status. In horses, oxidative stress during exercise can impair muscle and joint integrity.

MELOFEED helps modulate oxidative stress, support joint and muscle integrity, reinforce the immune system and support natural defenses.

SOD is also documented to have beneficial effects in the areas of weight management, muscle and joint function, emotional balance and in aging animals.

MELOFEED can be included in specific-need based equine feed and pet foods, treats and supplements for animals in all life stages.

MELOFEED is available in different formulations and compositions:

• MELOFEED: for inclusion in compound feeds.
• PM Melofeed 2.5: a diluted version of MELOFEED
• MELOFEED Drink: for use in water.

MELOFEED can be used in organic production and petfood under regulation (EC) No. 2018/848.

MELOFEED and MELOFEED Drink are packaged in a 1-kg aluminum sachet while PM MELOFEED 2.5 is packaged in a 5-kg sachet.
